The Kenmore West football teams from 1967-1969 will be honored as the 2025 Team of Distinction at the upcoming Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

With Jules Yakapovich as their head coach, the Kenmore West football team had a combined 23-1 record during the 1967-1969 seasons in which they won three Niagara Frontier Leagues. Thanks to their Option Offense and Radar Defense, the 1969 team wound up finishing the season with an 8-0 record and outscored their opponents 389-67. The team was named the no. 1 school in NYS and a "high school national champion" by the Junior Super Bowl following a no. 1 ranking in the nation.

Yakapovich was inducted into the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame in 2008. The event takes place on November 11th at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.
