Kenmore West High School would like to recognize student Tomas Moore as part of the Ken-Ton weekly spotlight. Tomas is a positive force in the Kenmore West school community who consistently looks for ways to make the school a better place and improve the lives of those around him. A natural problem solver, Tomas approaches challenges with creativity, initiative, and a genuine desire to help. He is always looking for ways to make his school and community a better place, including taking the lead to start a new student club, regularly assisting Mrs. Julkowski during cafeteria duty, and recently earned his CPR certification. Most notably, after learning about the design process in Mr. Derrick’s class, Tomas independently reached out to all of his teachers to ask if there were classroom needs he could help solve. He then worked to design solutions to meet those needs, demonstrating remarkable initiative and real-world application of his learning as well as caring for his teachers. Through this process, he partnered with Mr. Hannon to help design and build storage solutions for the gym spaces. Tomas is a kind, motivated student whose actions reflect leadership, empathy, and a strong commitment to his school community.
